  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 (12 oz) package fresh or frozen cheese tortellini
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add ground beef; cook until browned (7-10 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; let simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Fold cooked tortellini into the beef mixture until evenly coated.
  6. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the tortellini mixture, top with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Repeat layering with remaining mixture and cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly.
