  • 4 medium Russet potatoes (about 600g), peeled and boiled
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (100g)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (120g)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (100g)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Boil the peeled potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (about 15 minutes). Drain and mash until smooth.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  3. Shape the mixture into stick forms, approximately 3 inches long.
  4. Set up a breading station: one dish with flour, another with beaten egg, and a third with panko breadcrumbs. Dip each stick first in flour, then egg, and finally coat in panko.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the sticks for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels before serving.
