Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or gluten-free breadcrumbs)
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

For Tzatziki Sauce (Optional, for serving):

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatball Mixture:
    • In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, feta cheese, parsley, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
    • Crack the egg into the mixture and stir until all ingredients are well combined.
  2. Form the Meatballs:
    • Using your hands, shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter. You should have around 20-24 meatballs, depending on size.
  3. Cook the Meatballs:
    • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the meatballs to the skillet in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd.
    • Cook for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meatballs are browned on all sides and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  4. Make the Tzatziki Sauce (Optional):
    • While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the tzatziki sauce by combining the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, fresh dill, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Stir to combine and adjust seasoning as needed.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve the Greek turkey meatballs with the tzatziki sauce on the side, in pita wraps, over a salad, or with rice.

Notes

  • For a Lower-Carb Option: Serve the meatballs with zucchini noodles or cauliflower rice instead of pita or rice.
  • Freezing Tip: These meatballs freeze well. After cooking, let them cool completely, then place them in an airtight container or freezer bag. They can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or on the stovetop.
  • Vegetarian Option: Replace the ground turkey with plant-based ground meat and feta with a vegan alternative for a vegetarian version.
