    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup buttermilk
    • ½ cup vegetable oil
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • Green food coloring (about 1-2 teaspoons, adjust for desired shade)

    For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

    • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
    • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
    • 4 cups powdered sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • Pinch of salt

Instructions

    1. Prepare the oven and pans: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line cupcake pans with paper liners.

    2. Whisk dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

    3. Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and green food coloring until smooth.

    4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently. Mix until just combined (don’t overmix).

    5. Fill cupcake liners: Scoop the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.

    6. Bake: Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

    7. Cool: Let the cupcakes cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.

    For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

    1. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.

    2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, ½ cup at a time, beating after each addition until fully combined.

    3. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

    4. Once the cupcakes are fully cooled, generously pipe or spread the cream cheese frosting onto the cupcakes.
