Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. Mix dry ingredients:
    In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

  3. Cream butter and sugar:
    In another bowl, cream the softened butter until fluffy. Gradually add sugar and continue mixing until light and fluffy.

  4. Add eggs and vanilla:
    Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients:
    Fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.

  6. Add apples:
    Gently fold the chopped apples into the batter.

  7. Bake the cake:
    Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Cool and dust:
    Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
