Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Use a cookie scoop to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  8. Let cookies cool slightly, then press a chocolate or candy kiss into the center of each cookie.
  9. Optionally, sprinkle with decorative sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  10. Allow cookies to cool completely before serving.
