This easy-to-make Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake is a delightful dessert that combines the creamy goodness of cheesecake with the sweet and tangy flavor of fresh strawberries. The layers of cream cheese, strawberry filling, and buttery cake mix create a deliciously indulgent treat that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Cream Cheese: 8 oz, softened
  • Strawberry Jam or Preserves: 1 cup
  • Strawberry Cake Mix: 1 box (15.25 oz)
  • Unsalted Butter: ½ cup (1 stick), melted
  • Fresh Strawberries: 1 cup, chopped (optional)

  • Sugar: 2 tbsp (optional, for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.

  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer:
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with sugar (if using) until smooth and creamy. Spread this mixture evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

  • Add Strawberry Jam:
Spoon the strawberry jam or preserves evenly over the cream cheese layer, spreading it to cover the entire surface.

  • Top with Cake Mix:
Evenly sprinkle the dry strawberry cake mix over the strawberry jam layer. Do not stir or mix it in, just spread it out evenly.

  • Add Butter:
Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix. It will help create the cake’s crumbly topping as it bakes.

  • Bake the Cake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly. You can insert a toothpick into the center to check for doneness, ensuring the cake mix is cooked through.

  • Cool and Serve:
Allow the dump cake to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Top with chopped fresh strawberries for an extra burst of flavor if desired.

Notes

  • If you want a more cheesecake-like texture, add a bit of vanilla extract or a few tablespoons of sour cream to the cream cheese layer.
  • For extra sweetness, sprinkle some sugar over the cake mix before adding the butter.
  • You can substitute the strawberry jam with any other berry jam or preserve (like raspberry or blueberry) for a different flavor profile.

  • This cake is perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
