Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup honey (for drizzling)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Combine warm milk and yeast in a bowl until frothy. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center to add the milk mixture.
  2. Knead the Dough: Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl covered with a damp cloth to rise for about 1 hour.
  3. Make the Filling: Mix chopped walnuts, cinnamon, and sugar in a separate bowl.
  4. Roll Out Dough: After rising, roll dough into a rectangle (1/4 inch thick) on a floured surface. Spread melted butter over it.
  5. Add Filling: Evenly sprinkle the walnut mixture over the buttered dough. Roll tightly into a log.
  6. Cut & Shape: Slice the log into pieces about 2 inches thick and arrange upright in a greased baking dish. Allow to rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake buns for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Drizzle with honey while warm.
