  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded (divided)
  • ½ cup ketchup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. Sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper in a skillet over medium heat until softened (about 5 minutes).
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed vegetables, garlic powder, breadcrumbs, eggs, and half of the provolone cheese. Mix gently to combine.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape it into an even loaf.
  5. Spread ketchup over the top and sprinkle with remaining provolone cheese.
  6. Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
