  • 4 medium Russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter, then sauté onions and garlic until soft (about 4-5 minutes).
  3. Add the ground beef, browning it well while seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased dish, followed by half of the beef mixture and a sprinkle of cheese.
  5. Pour half of the milk evenly over the layers. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes; remove foil for the last 15 minutes to achieve a bubbly top.
