  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, and vanilla; whisk until smooth.
  3. Pour half of the batter into the pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth; add powdered sugar and vanilla until combined.
  5. Spread cheesecake mixture over the baked layer. Spoon remaining batter on top.
  6. Bake for an additional 25–30 minutes until set but slightly jiggly. Cool completely before slicing.
