  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 (16 oz) package gnocchi (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Increase heat slightly and add ground beef, cooking until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Stir in uncooked gnocchi along with ketchup and mustard. Add a splash of water if needed. Cover and simmer until gnocchi are tender.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top, cover again until melted, then gently mix everything together.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
