Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle in the active dry yeast; let it sit until bubbly (5-10 minutes).
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually add this to the yeast mixture along with melted butter and eggs.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth (about 8 minutes). The dough should be soft but not sticky.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the risen dough, divide it into equal pieces, and shape each piece into rolls. Place them in a greased baking dish.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter before serving.
