Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb raw shrimp (deveined)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) whole tomatoes (with juices)

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente; reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Add shrimp and cook until pink (3-4 minutes).
  3. Stir in canned tomatoes, crushing them slightly as they cook. Add heavy cream, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes; simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Toss cooked spaghetti into the sauce; add reserved pasta water as needed for consistency. Mix gently until well combined.
  5. Remove from heat; stir in chopped basil and grated Parmesan cheese before serving warm.
