Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1/2 cup Kewpie mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak: Whisk together soy sauce, minced garlic, sugar, gochujang, and sesame oil in a bowl. Add sliced steak and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the rice: Rinse jasmine rice under cold water until clear. Cook according to package instructions (about 15-20 minutes).
  3. Sear the steak: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated steak slices and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned to desired doneness.
  4. Prepare the spicy cream sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise with Sriracha and lime juice until smooth.
  5. Assemble your bowls: Place rice as the base in each bowl, top with seared steak slices, drizzle with spicy cream sauce, and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
