  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp matcha powder
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate together until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  4. Combine the sugars into the melted chocolate mixture, then add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract until well mixed.
  5. Gradually incorporate the flour mixture into the chocolate batter until just combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese with sugar until smooth, then mix in matcha powder and milk until well blended.
  7. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, dollop on matcha cheesecake mixture, and layer remaining brownie batter on top. Use a knife to create swirls without fully mixing them together.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until edges are set but center remains soft; allow to cool completely before slicing.
