Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 12 slider rolls
  • 1 cup dill pickles, sliced
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • Optional: pepperoncini peppers for extra kick

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and cut into large chunks. Season with salt, pepper, cumin, oregano, and paprika.
  2. Place sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker. Layer seasoned pork on top and pour orange juice over everything.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until pork shreds easily with a fork.
  4. Remove pork from the slow cooker and shred; mix back with juices and onions.
  5. Slice slider rolls horizontally. Spread mustard on both sides and layer shredded pork, Swiss cheese, and pickles.
  6. Optionally melt cheese by placing assembled sliders back in the slow cooker on warm or under the broiler until just melted.
