  • 1 cup smoked cheese, cubed (such as gouda)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Take a handful of the mixture and flatten it in your palm. Place a cube of smoked cheese in the center and wrap the meat around it to form a ball. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear meatballs for about 5 minutes until browned on all sides.
  5. Transfer seared meatballs to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
