Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla to the dry ingredients; mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks. Prepare instant custard according to package directions.
  6. Assemble by placing one cake layer on a platter, spreading half the custard over it, adding sliced strawberries, topping with the second layer, and repeating.
  7. Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
