Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup mixed fresh herbs (basil, parsley, thyme)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Gradually mix in flour and salt until a slightly sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Meanwhile, mix minced garlic, chopped herbs, and olive oil to create the filling.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle on parchment paper. Spread the garlic-herb mixture evenly over it and roll tightly into a log.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F. Let the loaf rise for another 30 minutes on the baking sheet before sprinkling with Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
